Biography Njang Stephen Mbu A.K.A Steveslil is a Cameroonian-born R n B , Afro beat singer, songwriter , TV host, producer and entertainment entrepreneur best known for co-initiating the showbiz outfit ’NexDim’. He was born on December 25th 1986 in his village , Nguti situated in the South West region of Cameroon. Young , tender, naive, and inquisitive , he started chanting at the age of 10 massively influenced by his mom and dad who were reputed for being prolific choristers and music composers. His aunt ,Nancy Asopo composed the popular ’’Luncheon Date’’ tune frequently aired on CRTV. At the age of 12 while in Presbyterian Comprehensive Secondary School Buea, intelligent and dexterous, he started developing penchant for poetry and penning gospel lyrics as well as dancing. Gearing towards a strong goal of becoming a singer, he formed a gospel acapella band called ’’Boyz on Zion’’ which garnered fame on campus . Apart from being a great asset to the school choir, he represented the school in Drawing contests around the Buea vicinity and won the ’’Best Prize in Environmental Drawing’’ 1998 in Buea. Steveslil spent 2 years out of music fighting to grapple with academics . This earned him Ordinary and Advanced Level certificates with outstanding performances. In 2003, Steveslil enrolled in the University of Buea to pursue legal studies. There, he meets friends who share a common passion for music with him.The outcome was a Hip Hop band called ’’Coresouth’’ comprising Steveslil ,Nais G,C-Hill and Trano. Highly reputed on campus for songs like ’’Julie’’, ’’Hop up’’ and ’’Ghost Town’’, the band became the first in the South West Region to have a video aired on STV and represented the region at the Nescafe African Revelation 2005. He graduated with an LLB in law in 2006. After the dissolution of the band in 2006, Steveslil decided to pursue a solo career with a strong influence from his former band mate, C-Hill. In 2007, he debuted with two classic singles ’’Play my Tambourine’’ and ’’Suzzy’’ recorded at Chillen Muzic. Both tunes received massive airplay on STV, Canal 2, Africa Magic ,CRTV,Channel O and many more. His name was gradually getting into the Cameroonian urban music hall of fame. Same year, Steveslil collaborated with Kora Awards nominee and Star De Demain laureate ,Achalle in a video compilation called ’’Cameroonian Dream’’ with hit videos like ’’Feeling Insecured’’ off Achalle Album ’Feelings’ and ’I can’ by Steveslil. With a dire need to get internet presence and promote Cameroonian entertainment products, Steveslil and his longtime friend CEO of AfroVision Group , Churchill hatched the idea of an online platform dubbed NexDim Empire inspired from the phrase ’’Next Dimension’’. www.nexdimempire.com became one the most trafficked Entertainment platform in Cameroon after 2 years highly acknowledged and endorsed by icons in the entertainment industry. Steveslil Njang was named CEO of NexDim after its creation. Headquartered in Buea, NexDim has spread its entertainment business concept to the spheres of making movies, video editing, producing and selling TV content and instructing on contemporary blogging. Steveslil produced a sound track for the movie ‘’Not My Will’’ in 2010. In same year 2010, Steveslil was the communication agent during the maiden edition of Gospel Musical , a reality TV show in search of the best gospel singing voice in Cameroon aired on CRTV Steveslil has performed international in Stockholm , Sweden, and Helsinki, Finland after contracting with Rocanegra Music Group in September 2011. A few months after his arrival from Europe , he won ‘’BEST RnB artist’’ at CUMA AWARDS 2011. In August 2012, he was nominated as BEST MALE VOCALIST at Cameroon Entertainment Awards (CEA) USA. Steveslil’s singles ‘’PANJO’’and ‘’Ebangha’’are currently getting the entire Cameroonian public enthralled while ‘’Buy you shack’’ video , a remake of T-Pain’s ‘Buy you a drink’ is getting the buzz.
