The former footballer and member of the Douala Sports Union in the 70s, Axel Mouna rose to fame in the late The 70s and early 80s with the hit song Juventus. Juventus was a legendary football club in Douala in the 70s. Through this song, the artist pays homage to Moundi Elimbi and Ndoumbe Mondo, respectively president and coach of this team who found death in a car caught in a train.
After two albums - Take in 1980 and Juventus in 1981 it took 10 years until Axel Mouna released his third album Time ni time in 1991. His most recent CD Makossa Bugulu dates from 2013. With the help of Arthur Manga (bass guitar) and Bobby Nguime (solo guitar), Mouna recorded eight titles, six classic Makossa- and two Salsa songs. Unfortunately, the album received little attention, due to poor distribution.
