    Born February 2, 1945 in Bangoulap in the Ndé department of the West region, he spent his childhood in Nkongsamba. Young student, Tchana sang in church like most children in his age. In 1957, he won with his flute the first prize of a public program organized by Radio Douala. In 1959, he went to Yaoundé where he now continued his studies while making music. In 1961, Radio Yaoundé recorded his songs as part of a program for the discovery of young talents. From 1963, he sang at the old pezzena Bar in the Madagascar district; te in 1965, he created his own orchestra, Travel Jazz. The same year, he signed his first discographic contract with the editions <>. then in 1968, he recorded the disc "IL N'never n'est trop tard" with philips. In 1970, he signed a contract with SATEL editions of which he became the representative in Central Africa.
    In the meantime, he was recruited from the Ministry of Finance as a paper scraper. But in 1979, the Minister responsible for Information and Culture asked Pierre Tchana for the services of his finance counterpart. became Head of the Copyright Office (1981-1982), then technical supervisor of the National Ensemble (1982-1989) .In 1989 and 1990, he twice represented Cameroon at the International Artistic Festival in Pyongyang in the Republic People's Democratic Party of Korea. from 1989 to 1995, he was Head of the Provincial Office of Cultural Animation for the center. He retired in 1995.
    Renowned author-composer and performer, his musical work is immense as evidenced by <> <> <> <> <> <> <> and <>.
    He died on November 24, 1998 in Douala.
